Cliff Smyth

For the last 22 years I have worked with individuals as a Feldenkrais Method practitioner helping people recover functional abilities and become aware of themselves through embodied learning. I have also served all my adult life on variety of boards of non-profit organizations, including twelve years on the Board of the International Feldenkrais Federation, six of those as President.

I have spent my entire professional life working with people as a teacher, group facilitator, somatic educator and leader. I trained and worked as a high school teacher, taught writing for many years, and worked in the arts and community development.

As a coach and leader, I have particular experience helping people involved in human services and health care, the arts, the non-profit sector and professional associations.

In addition to doing Feldenkrais for my own well being, I practice mindfulness meditation and Yoga Nidra.

I was born and lived in Melbourne, Australia, until I moved to live in San Francisco in 1996. I like exploring new places. I have travelled extensively for my professional work and interest. I am a husband, father and grandfather,

I draw on all this training and experience in shaping the coaching process for each individual client. My clients tell me they appreciate my:

  • in-depth listening

  • creative ideas and approaches
  • positive appreciation, support and encouragement.
